Does your club own and control your own domain name?

Following some awkward situations in the past, the District Services Committee took a policy decision that all Rotary Domains in District 1130 must be owned by a Rotary body and not by an independent commercial organisation over which Rotary Clubs and Districts can exercise no control. You can view the ownership information easily by visiting “http://whois.sc/” and searching your club domain name. If any of the details that come up are not correct or up to date – take action now to correct them, before it’s too late.

Student Assignments

Does any Rotary Club or individual Rotarian want to become involved with student assignments for the coming term?  District Editor Jane Hammond published an article in the Summer issue of Rotary in London, describing the ways in which Rotary Clubs and individual Rotarians could get involved in further education.  Examples given were drawing up plans for Battersea Park’s Christmas lunch, taking a look at the annual District Assembly, drawing up a public relations programme for the London District and so on.  Anyone interested should contact Jane Hammond

Parking at York Gate

York Gate is a private road and you cannot park there at any time without a permit.  Until recently The Crown Estate Paving Commission ceased patrols at 6.30pm on weekdays and mid-day on Saturdays.  However they have now introduced 24/7 patrols and Rotarians are strongly advised to park in the pay and display areas on the Outer Circle. You are normally permitted up to 15 minutes to load or unload outside York Gate, but never between 0815 and 0930 hrs or 1415 and 1530 hrs on week-days when the stretch outside 6 York Gate is reserved for school buses.

RIBI Business Meeting Webcast

Not able to go to the Dublin Conference? Shame – you’ll be missing a great occasion. But you don’t have to miss the all-important Business Meeting, because it will be broadcast on the RIBI website, live from Dublin, on Saturday 16th April between 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

Simply go to the Dublin Conference Webcast page, in the Events area, to see what’s going on and you can follow it all using the Annual Report, Accounts and Resolutions insert in this month’s Rotary Today magazine. (Not got a copy? Read it online here.) Please note, the webcast page will not go live until Saturday 16th.

Following the live webcast, a recording of the Business Meeting will then be available to view here from Sunday 17th April morning. Again, the web page will not go live until the Sunday morning.
