GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE SPEAKERS PAGE

Welcome to the District 1130 Group Study Exchange Speakers Page

This is where you can easily make contact with members of recent Group Study Exchange Teams who will speak to your club.

There is only room for a brief synopsis for each speaker here, so please feel free to use email and propose some dates.

Rachael Elliott

Rachael Elliott went on the Group Study Exchange with British Columbia and Washington State. After a spelling working as a Programme Manager for an international student organisation in Central London, she is now involved in placing students who wish to study in a university in the United States. If you would like to know about the issues in placing a student in the US, or would like a reminder of the benefits that Group Study Exchange brings to young professionals, Rachael would be pleased to talk to your Club.

Yvonne Smyth

Yvonne Smyth went on the Group Study Exchange with Brazil. She works as a practising Solicitor. If you would like a reminder of the benefits that Group Study Exchange brings to young professionals, Yvonne would be pleased to tell you about the difference the programme made for her.

Carl Wonfor

Carl Wonfor is a policeman based in Central London, with experience in a wide range of policing activities. Following his GSE Experience in BC and Washington State, his career has moved onward and upward. If your Club is interested in Law and Order, and the work of the Metropolitan Police Service, he would be pleased to receive an invitation.

Jane

Sarah Ball is a Double Alumni, as well as being a former D1130 Rotaract Chairman. She was a D1130 Outbound Ambassadorial scholar to Southern California where she studied Media and Communications, and later she was a team member for our GSE Team that visited Connecticut. She has now become a Rotarian, and is continuing her career as an in-house consultant in communications at the BBC. A very wide range of experience, and an accomplished speaker.

Mike Westcar

Mike took part in a GSE Team visit to Israel, during a period of conflict in the Middle East. His experiences during the Exchange left a deep impression on him. His now a Project Manager for properties owned by a South London Borough, and has found ample opportunity to employ the skills acquired on his GSE. He would be pleased to speak on his experiences.

Gul Yuksel

Gul Yuksel also took part in the GSE visit to BC and Washington State
whilst she was working in Marketing in Royal Mail. Her experiences there however concentrated more on mailroom operations than marketing, perhaps with the knowledge that her career would develop in that direction. She now works in central London in operations management for Royal Mail. She would be pleased to speak to your Club, and you can contact her through the Foundation Chairman.

Ali Tayeb Khan

Ali Tayeb Khan (his father is Ali Khan!) took part in our GSE Team visiting Canada and the US in 2002. Concentrating on the accounting of assets for an international fund and asset manager, he has a strong interest in coaching and teaching young people. He is currently preparing for a professional accountancy qualification, but would be pleased to speak to your Club.

Vivek Ayer

Vivek Ayer also took part in our GSE Team visiting Canada and the US in 2002. Working in the development of computer software for a variety of government departments and industries, he has an interesting perspective on where technology may be leading us.
