Welcome to the District 1130 Group Study Exchange Speakers Page
This is where you can easily make contact with members of recent
Group Study Exchange Teams who will speak to your club.
There is only room for a brief synopsis for each speaker here, so
please feel free to use email and propose some dates. |

Rachael Elliott went on the Group Study
Exchange with British Columbia and Washington State. After a spelling
working as a Programme Manager for an international student organisation
in Central London, she is now involved in placing students who wish to
study in a university in the United States. If you would like to know
about the issues in placing a student in the US, or would like a
reminder of the benefits that Group Study Exchange brings to young
professionals, Rachael would be pleased to talk to your Club.

Yvonne Smyth went on the Group Study
Exchange with Brazil. She works as a practising Solicitor. If you would
like a reminder of the benefits that Group Study Exchange brings to
young professionals, Yvonne would be pleased to tell you about the
difference the programme made for her.

Carl Wonfor is a policeman based in
Central London, with experience in a wide range of policing activities.
Following his GSE Experience in BC and Washington State, his career has
moved onward and upward. If your Club is interested in Law and Order,
and the work of the Metropolitan Police Service, he would be pleased to
receive an invitation.

Sarah Ball is a Double Alumni, as well as
being a former D1130 Rotaract Chairman. She was a D1130 Outbound
Ambassadorial scholar to Southern California where she studied Media and
Communications, and later she was a team member for our GSE Team that
visited Connecticut. She has now become a Rotarian, and is continuing
her career as an in-house consultant in communications at the BBC. A
very wide range of experience, and an accomplished speaker.

Mike took part in a GSE Team visit to
Israel, during a period of conflict in the Middle East. His experiences
during the Exchange left a deep impression on him. His now a Project
Manager for properties owned by a South London Borough, and has found
ample opportunity to employ the skills acquired on his GSE. He would be
pleased to speak on his experiences.

Gul Yuksel also took part in the GSE visit
to BC and Washington State
whilst she was working in Marketing in Royal Mail. Her experiences
there however concentrated more on mailroom operations than marketing,
perhaps with the knowledge that her career would develop in that
direction. She now works in central London in operations management for
Royal Mail. She would be pleased to speak to your Club, and you can
contact her through the Foundation Chairman.

Ali Tayeb Khan (his father is Ali Khan!)
took part in our GSE Team visiting Canada and the US in 2002.
Concentrating on the accounting of assets for an international fund and
asset manager, he has a strong interest in coaching and teaching young
people. He is currently preparing for a professional accountancy
qualification, but would be pleased to speak to your Club.

Vivek Ayer also took part in our GSE Team
visiting Canada and the US in 2002. Working in the development of
computer software for a variety of government departments and
industries, he has an interesting perspective on where technology may be
leading us.
