The aim of British Polio Week is to raise awareness of the effects of l i v i n g with polio or Post PolioSyndrome, the work of the Fellowship and to encourage new members to join.
We want to remindpeople that polio is n o t history and many thousands of people in the UK are living with polio today. You have been sent this brochure because you have polio, live with someone who has polio, havepreviously supported people with polio or actively raise money for the eradication of polio. Whobetter to help us spread the word! With your help we can continue to help our members live fully integrated lives. Your donation or support during British Polio Week will enable us do this. We hope to raise £50,000 between 3 - 11 July 2010 and this brochure gives some ideas on how you can raise both money and awareness for the Fellowship and hopefully you can have fun doing it. If you are unable to help personally then perhaps you could pass this guide onto someone who can. Every penny of your donation during British Polio Week will go directly towards the following charitable activities:
•Holiday Grants
•Heating Grants
•Welfare Visits
•An Information and Support Helpline
•Social Activities
•Information Days
•Advice on the provision of callipers and other mobility aids all of which will be of invaluable help to our members who are LIVING with polio today
