Message sent to DGE's on 14th July 2009 :

Congratulations on your appointment as President Elect for the year 2009-10. As your District Governor during the year 2010-11, I will keep you informed of all the necessary dates and events that will be relevant for your year of office.


Kindly note that I am currently putting together the "group" email and this message is being sent to all clubs. However, there are five clubs who have their President Elect in place, but I do not have the emails addresses for these: Brixton (being sent to the Vice President for the time being), Fulham, Hillside Finchley, Tooting and Woodford Green (being sent to the Secretary for the time being). Also it is noted that Chigwell, Chingford, Chiswick & Brentford, Crystal Palace & Norwood, Deptford and Loughton & Buckhurst Hill have yet to make an appointment. Can these clubs please let me know as soon as an appointment is made.

Bulletin No. 2.

For the attention of all President Elects:
10th October 2009.
Dear All,

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the District Conference in Eastbourne this week.
Please remember there is a reception for Presidents elect and their partners in the “Towner” on Friday 16th Oct. commencing 4:30 pm. I will give a very brief talk about our year ahead and the aspirations for the year. The reception ends at 5:15 pm. The entertainment at the Congress Theatre on the Friday evening is the “Merseybeats”.

As a further reminder, the diary dates have been fixed* for the following events:

Friday 16th to Sunday 18th October 2009. District Conference in Eastbourne.

Thursday 3rd December 2009 – PEPS – President Elect Preparation Seminar at York Gate 6:30 pm.

Sunday 21st March 2010 – PETS – President Elect Training Seminar. (currently being held at 6 York Gate providing we can use the facilities of SKOLA (International school), if not then City of London Boys School.)

Sunday 11th April 2010 – District Assembly at the City of London Boys School.

16th – 18th April.2010 RIBI Conference at Bournemouth.

4th July 2010. District Changeover (venue to be arranged). *.

8th July 2010. District Council

13th & 14th July 2010 Presidents Receptions. (York Gate).

6th October 2010 District Council.

15th to 17th October 2010 District Conference in Eastbourne.

24th February 2011. District Council.

15th March 2011 Youth Makes Music, RFH. (subject to DC agreement).

The first event for all Presidents Elect is the Presidents Elect Preparation Seminar on 3rd December commencing at 6:30 pm at York Gate. The events Chairman PDG Sydney Parker will be sending out invitations at the end of October.

Over the last year or so, there have been several plans introduced by RI including the District and Club Leadership Plans, the Strategy Plan 2007-2010 and now we have under Foundation, the Future Vision Plan, there is a lot that you need to know about, so please try and get along. On District we are implementing the 3-year plan and I will be putting forward ideas to strengthen some of our smaller clubs, which can be discussed at PEPS and followed through to the District Assembly. I am fortunate that our District has a very strong training team of dedicated professionals to help us through our year.

Can you also look at your club events through the year 1st July 2010 to 30th June 2011 and if you wish me or my wife Carole and myself to attend any special function, please book us early!! I am also compiling the dates of the DG visit to your club, again, if there is a special day you would like me to visit, please let me know.

As some of you know, I gave talks on the conspiracy surrounding the “Titanic” and it has always been of interest to me to read through some of the other conspiracy theories. I looked at the death of Marilyn Monroe to see if the US government was involved with her death, this cannot be proved. However, I have put together a short 20 minute talk on the life of MM, so if you have a spare spot in your speakers programme, please give me a ring and I would be glad to come to your club. I am not available between 7th January and 4th February 2010.
